DRYER SECTION

PERFORMANCE AND BENEFITS

Drying cylinders for every kind of paper grade are produced in our factory. Depending on speed and grade, the cylinders are fitted with rotary or fixed siphons, and the dryer configuration can be double tier, or single tier design with single felting and vacuum-assited large diameter felt rolls, for a good efficieny and rope-less threading at high speed operation. Silent drive is also applied, with selected dryers driven in every group, the remainder cylinders being driven by the dryer canvas.

Special alloys and surface treatment of the dryers are employed for after-size dryers and for seat dryers. Chromium plating is available for application of coater dryers.

The production program cover :

  • Face length up to 9.000 mm
  • Operating pressure of 5.8, 10 or 11.5 bar
  • Standard diameters of 1.250, 1.500, 1.830 mm
  • Available coding as per ASME, TUV, APAVE, ISPESL

SPECIAL FEATURES

HIGH SPEED PAPER DRYING

Today’s papermaking high production speeds require that the dryer section be highly specialized for maximum sheet quality, runnability and efficiency. Our dryer section feature single tier dryer configuration with large diameter suction felt rolls in the first dryer groups, to reduce shrinkage, followed by traditional double tier dryers, the configuration of the dryer fabric runs are studied to give maximum support to the web, thus avoiding sheet flutter and blowing.

ENGINEERING

Every dryer section is designed with assistance of a computer simulator, a powerful tool of the application engineer  for optimizing and fire tuning the performance of the dryers, thanks to these tools, faster start-ups, better sheet runnability, quality and machine efficiencies are easily achivied.

METALLURGY

The modern foundry has the capacity of producing up to 5 drying cylinders per week. A last generation gas heated furnace allows a perfect control of the casting. To obtain the desired characteristics of body structure, surface hardness, heat transfer, and strength. They alloy composition is controlled by a spectrometric technique, which allows precise and immediate chemical analysis before the pouring of the cylinders.

Typical materials :

  • Shell : EN GJL 300-UNI 1561 cast iron.
  • Heads : EN GJS 400-15 UNI EN 1563 nodular iron.

COMPONENTS

  • The dryers are equipped with state-of-the-art aerothermic systems
  • Shalt-mounted gear boxes, driving of the dryer groups through selected cylinders
